PORCELAIN JEWELLERY WORKSHOP

The workshop is taught by Artist/Tutor Elizabeth Emmens-Wilson
You will learn:
- Basic clay handling techniques,
- Hand building techniques,
- Methods of impressing designs into the clay,
- Using under glazes
The workshop is suitable for beginners or slightly more experienced and our experienced ceramics tutor, Elizabeth will introduce you to some of the skills and techniques used to work with porcelain.
Using natural materials like flowers, leaves, seeds and other foliage to create impressions in the surface of the clay, making and applying 3d elements, Using tools to impress your designs into the surface of the clay. These decorated elements will then be fashioned into jewellery, brooches and necklaces
Water based under-glazes can then be used for colours and effect. Your finished work will be fired and any findings required will be added making your work into wearable, original art.
What is an ARTPAD workshop like?
ARTPAD is a friendly and inspiring environment where you can relax and spend time being creative and having fun. All materials will be provided along with a workshop handout that explains what you will be doing. The tutor will demo or explain things and will be on hand throughout the workshop to help and guide you. We have a break for tea and biscuits, time to chat and a look at each other’s work.
Unfortunately ARTPAD doesn't have wheelchair access, but we do provide outreach!
